大阪府にあります交野市の獅子窟寺（ししくつじ）奥之院をご案内します。
獅子窟寺は高野山真言宗の普見山（ふみざん）獅子窟寺と言われ、真言宗の方々の修行場です。
弘法大師(空海)もその昔、修行しに来ていたとのこと。
交野市は『星の伝説』がさまざま伝わる地域です。
獅子窟寺に残る伝説は、空海が修行をした際、秘法を唱えると、交野に星が降ったという伝説。
星が降るとは流れ星を見た、ではなく、隕石が落ちてきたのだそうです。
今の時代の方々は「本当に！？(そんなことはないでしょー笑)」と思う方が圧倒的に多いと思います。「昔から星が降ったという伝説がある交野」という地域の星めぐりをしていると、本当に降ったのかもしれない感覚に段々となるので、面白いです。
そして、この地域は、昔、磐座信仰の地であったそうで、巨石がゴロゴロとしています。
獅子窟寺境内から奥之院までの道のりは、巨石がゴロゴロとしていて魅力的なので、ぜひ案内したいおすすめの場所です。
この記事では、こちらでは獅子窟寺本堂から獅子窟寺奥の院までを案内します。
読んで行かれる方、遊び半分で行くと、意外に危険な箇所もあるので、十分に気をつけて行ってくださいね。
靴は滑り止めのあるしっかりしたものを履いてください
足元もそこまで良くないので、雨の日や空が暗い日はあまり行かない方が良いです。
最寄り駅からの行き方や、獅子窟寺については、次の記事を参考にしてください。
普見山獅子窟寺の巨石めぐりは階段を獅子の岩から
それでは、本堂横の階段を上がったところにある巨石から案内します。
画像は、獅子窟寺の境内案内図です。
案内図は獅子窟寺境内の入り口にしかありません。（山に入る前にしかこの案内はありません）
この案内図で言うと、本堂の左の階段を上がったところです。
階段を上がると巨石がお出迎えしてくれます。
この岩の裏側に階段があるので裏の階段を上がると観音岩と獅子の岩群があります。
そして、その先は立ち入り禁止になっているのですが、昔は立ち入り禁止部分からぐるっと岩を回れたようで、最初の岩に戻れるようになっています。
画像の左上、獅子の岩あたりから見える、岩と岩との空洞があります。
この裏側がおそらく、右下の画像の岩。
ちょうど立ち入り禁止になっている区域です。
「空海が秘法を唱えた岩」の伝説の残る岩です。
近くで見たいのですが、おそらく足元が悪すぎて、立ち入り禁止になったのかと。
画像はどこで撮ったのかというと、最初の岩を左に行く小径があり、そこを通っていきました。
その先は立ち入り禁止で、ギリギリまで近寄りましたが、危なくないとは決して言える道ではないので、見に行く方は十分に気をつけて行ってください。
獅子窟寺にある巨石、観音岩から奥に続く道を進む
観音岩を左手にして、奥に道が続きます。
ここが、獅子窟寺の奥之院に続く道です。
ここまでは舗装された道を上がってきましたが、ここからは山らしくなり、滑る箇所もあるので、奥の院に行く方は、少し登山的な格好で行った方が安全でしょう。
（画像から判断して行ってもらえればと思います。）
奥之院に続く前半の道の雰囲気。
ちなみに、獅子窟寺本堂から奥之院までは30分ほど歩く位の距離です。
前半は道が続いていて、とてもわかりやすいと思います。
歩いていると、八丈岩というとても大きな岩が現れます。
獅子窟寺の巨石めぐりは八丈岩が目印
この八丈岩、上れるように足場が掘られています。
岩の上で寝そべったりできるようなのですが、上がった後の下り方がイメージできず、上がるのはやめました。
八丈岩から下に続く小道を下りていきます。
この辺りから巨石がゴロゴロとしていて、鏡岩、袈裟かけ岩、龍岩窟と続きますが、どれがどの岩なのかがわからなくなります。
八丈岩はぐるっと見ることができるようで、この岩沿いに道があります。
ただし、奥之院への道は、画像（↑）右に続く道を下りていきます。（細い道）
下るとまもなく、袈裟かけ岩という巨石があり、右と左に道が分かれているように見えるのですが、左の道に入ります。
左の道に入ったところからは道の雰囲気も変わります。
巨石をめぐりながらどんどん下りてください。
とても細くて危ない箇所もあるのですが、そのようなところはロープ（命綱）が張っています。
怖かったらそのロープを掴みながら進めるので、危ないけども気をつけて行くと、無事に進むことはできます。
ただし、画像は2020年の12月に撮影したもので、2021年2月に行くと、ロープが張られてある道が、倒木だらけで通れなくなっていました。(2022年4月も通れませんでした)
自然の森ですので、状況はその時々で変わります。
もし倒木がひどく、通れない場合は、もう一つ進める道があるので、そちらを進みます。
ただ、ロープが張っていなくて、大きな岩穴があったりして少し危ないので、十分に気をつけて進んでください。
倒木があるあたりから、奥之院までは5分ほどで行ける距離です。
素晴らしい巨石を眺めながら歩けるのですが、この辺りは岩の穴もあったりするので、少し足元にも気をつけて進んでください。
獅子窟寺の巨石をめぐる「奥之院」に到着！
ごろごろ大きな岩と道沿いに下りていくと（右手に道があります）、奥之院にたどり着きます。
奥之院にも石仏が祀られていました。
とても大きい巨石で、写真ではなかなか大きさが伝わらないので、一緒に行った方も共に写っていただきました。
この辺り一帯、カメラに収まりきらないほどの巨石がゴロゴロしていて、圧倒されます！
奥之院は少しだけ中に入ることができるので、ぜひ入ってみてください。
岩と岩の間から差し込む光が美しく、何千年もかけて削られた岩と、岩の隙間などを見て、自然の素晴らしさを感じることができます。
そして、とても優しい風かどこからともなく吹いていたり、とても神秘的な体験をすることができるでしょう。
また、奥之院の隣にも巨石があり、入ることもできそうな雰囲気もありました。
この先を進むこともできますが、奥之院をゴールとして獅子窟寺本堂に戻りましょう。
とにかく巨石を楽しみながら戻りますが、ちょっと迷いそうな道もあるので、通ってきた道は覚えながら、戻ってくださいね。
獅子窟寺奥之院から巨石めぐりをしながら本堂へ
一眼レフを持ち歩いていた方は、この岩が大きすぎて撮れない（写真に収めることができない）と残念がっていらっしゃいました。
この小道を上がります。
通ってきた道を戻っているはずだけど、こんな道を通っていないかもと思ったら、引き返してみてください。
そして元きた道になんとか戻りましょう。
私は実際に迷ってしまった人ですが、おかしいと気が付いたら早めに引き返すのがおすすめです。
八丈岩から奥之院に下りる道で迷ってしまう可能性があるかもしれないのですが、15分位で八丈岩に戻れなかったら、道を間違っている可能性があります。
(以前迷ってここに来てしまった事があります)
八丈岩に無事、到着できたら一安心です。
左に曲がり、道なりに進んでいくだけで戻れます。
そこから本堂へ向かって歩き、本堂までもうすぐのところで一瞬外が見えるポイントがあるのですが、この景色！何やら雲海的な気がする！！っと、先を急ぎました。
本堂の奥に、展望デッキがあるのでぜひ大阪平野の景色を見下ろしてみてください。
獅子窟寺本堂へ戻ったら展望デッキで休憩
本堂です。
そして本堂奥の展望デッキまで急いで向かってみた景色がこちら↓
展望デッキに着いたのが少し遅く、半分雲海な感じでした。この景色も幻想的。
素敵な風の吹く奥之院、巨石群と幻想的な景色も見せていただき、とてもよい奥之院めぐりとなりました。
普見山獅子窟寺で巨石めぐりをしてみよう！
普見山獅子窟寺は、巨石めぐりができる境内です。
奥之院に近づくほど、大きな岩を見て回れます。
岩めぐりをじっくり味わいたい大人のグループにおすすめです。
ただし、すべて舗装されているとは限りませんので、軽い登山のような服装で行くのが望ましいでしょう。
